SATURDAY: LUKE 23:55-56 "..and the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and behind the sepulchre, and how his body was laid. And they returned and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the Sabbath Day according to the commandment." ...THE SABBATH DAY
SUNDAY: MATTHER 28:1 "In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first say of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre..." ...EASTER SUNDAY
The "preparation day" was THE DAY BEFORE THE SABBATH DAY. Jesus was crucified and put to death on this day which we now call "Good Friday." The Sabbath arrived at sundown Friday and lasted till sundown Saturday -- then on early Sunday morn (the first day of the week) it was discovered that the tomb was empty and Jesus has risen! This is the day we call Easter Sunday. Saturday is the Lord's Day.
Justifying the movement of Saturday to Sunday because of the discovery on Sunday would be just a lame of an excuse as moving it to Wednesday if the tomb was discovered then...
