Photos of Sully District Station Lockdown

On May 8th, 2006 around 3:30pm a gunman opened fire on officers at the Sully District Station on Stonecroft Boulevard in Chanttily, VA. One officer died from injuries, three others were hospitalized, and the gunman was taken out by police.

The event happened so fast that the area was immediately secured so tightly that for the most part, the media was unable to get photos of the event. However, below are the first images taken from within the lockdown.

Chantilly Police Shooting: Overhead of parkinglot near scene

An overhead view of officers near the Texas Roadhouse and AmeriSuites right near the intersection of Stonecroft Blvd and Westfields. Food donations were provided to officers. Count the number of officers on foot in this photo, especially in the background.
